An anonymous comment on this blog revealed the following history about the club:-
Warriors baseball club was formed in 1983 at the instigation of players who had outgrown junior baseball but were reluctant to sign for already established clubs.The players were mainly recruited from the Rebels and the Wildcats juniors but with a couple of older players who returned to the sport.
In their first season they played all their games away from home and in a mish mash of uniforms that were begged and borrowed from various sources.
Although they finished bottom of the local league their first game was a memorable occasion as they beat the well established Hull Giants 9-7 at Danepark diamond.
1984 and 1985 saw them play at Stonebridge Avenue,Greatfield and in 1986 they moved to Alderman Cogan School at Whitworth Street off Southcoates Avenue where the changing facilities and playing area were far better.
